West Ham United 1 (Manuel Lanzini 65)

Tottenham Hotspur 0

This defeat at London Stadium effectively ended Spurs’ chances of chasing down Chelsea in the Premier League title race. Chelsea, with a game in hand, are four points in front, and Spurs have just three matches left. Last season Mauricio Pochettino’s side “blew up” under the pressure of chasing were runaway leaders Leicester City, eventually finishing third behind arch North London rivals Arsenal. Spurs have looked a much more mature bunch this campaign, keeping on Chelsea’s heals with a succession of wins. Unfortunately, Spurs found West Ham in determined mood after a run of poor results and the Hammers gave one of the best team displays of the season. The body language of the visiting players said it all.
