Exeter finally lifted the Aviva Premiership trophy just seven years after winning promotion from the Championship. It took extra time and a 98th-minute penalty from fly-half Gareth Steenson to see off Wasps and to set off West Country celebrations. it was also a great day for coach Rob Baxter and chairman Tony Rowe, both architects of Exeter’s long-term strategy to reach the top in the English club scene. Also pictured with the trophy Jack Nowell, who returned to Exeter that night for a “cider and pastie” party before rolling into a taxi the next morning to take him back to long to join the British Lions before flying out to New
